Most brands show you something only when it is already finished: the photo taken, the scent chosen, the story polished. We do it the other way round. We build Il Belga Barbuto in the open, step by step, before there is anything for sale. Here is why.
What a brand in the making means
A brand in the making shows how it comes about, not only what it eventually sells. For us that means we talk about the choices while we make them, not afterwards. Which carrier oil, and why babassu. How many scents were on the table, and how we tested them. What a test panel will soon get to say. You do not read a finished sales story, you look over the shoulder while it is being made.
Why we do it this way
A finished product hides all the decisions that mattered. Whoever sees only the bottle does not know whether one afternoon or months of work went into it. By building in the open, that work becomes visible. We tested 23 scent compositions in Salento instead of choosing from three. We chose a carrier oil for what it does to the skin, not for what was cheap. Showing those choices says more about a brand than any slogan. It is also more honest: you know what you are choosing before you buy.
What that means for you
Building in the open is not a shop window, it is an invitation. The final say in the scent is not ours, but that of the men who actually wear the oil. That is why we put together a test panel before the launch. Whoever watches while this brand takes shape can also become part of it. That way you help shape what will soon be in the collection, instead of coming across it later in a shop.
A brand you see take shape is one you do not have to take on its word.
